BC senior makes directing debut
Katelyn E. Stackpole is making her directing debut with “Five Women Wearing the Same Dress” by Alan Ball on April 1–3, in Cole Hall at Bridgewater College.
The curtain will rise at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 3 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $7 for adults; $5 for seniors and non-BC students. To make reservations call 540- 828-5361. This production is recommended for mature audiences.
The play centers on five very different bridesmaids who are dealing with outlandish hairdos and ugly identical dresses at a friend’s wedding. As they dish the dirt in an upstairs bedroom during a grand, Southern-style wedding reception, the women discuss men, love, life and lessons learned.
Active in Theatre at Bridgewater College, Stackpole has been cast in roles in Euripides’ “Women of Troy” and “Mostellaria” (The Haunted House) by Plautus. She served as stage manager for “Doubt: A Parable” by John Patrick Shanley and “The Baker’s Wife” by Joseph Stein and Stephen Schwartz.
